Are the shakes low in calories?

In the last few months my body is obese and needs to lose weight for good health. Joining a gym has helped and since I became a member I have lost 8 kilograms of weight. But there is more at stake than exercise. For starters, my diet has been adjusted and sugar and salt are now excluded as much as possible. However, the waking up about pimples has been a positive one, as the oatmeal eaten for breakfast every morning was partly responsible for the problem.

Once I realized this, my switch to something better was immediate. About two years ago my sister was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and to help her with her food intake 2 Magic Mix machines were bought and one was given to her. The other sat in my cupboard unused until the beans became a no-no.

Something inside told me to take it out and use it. This was coupled with reading an article by a dietitian advising that breakfast is an unnecessary meal and that we should relax our stomachs by avoiding it.

This advice does not sit well with me. My body craves food of some kind in the morning or yells at me. A trip to the supermarket helped solve the problem.

Thinking of smoothies as an alternative to oatmeal, the basic ingredient should be yogurt. There, in the refrigerated section, was one with extra protein. Using a couple of heaping tablespoons as a start and adding fruit and a celery stick is now my answer.

Fruit selection includes berries; bananas; passion fruit; Apple; fruit kiwi; grapes; and colleagues. Not all of them are added to each shake, as four or five is enough. A little almond milk is added to this mixture so that it blends better.

The taste is divine and the energy it gives me lasts until lunchtime when I now make my main meal. All the change in diet has helped and along with working out at the gym my body already feels much better.

As a spiritual person with a link to the Universal Spirit, my trust in God is such that when I hear a voice that speaks to me inside, I act accordingly. That voice told me one day to join a gym because I need to exercise. Now they ask me to help me lose more weight because fat in the organs is a precursor to cancer and that is not welcome in anyone’s life.

Due to the weight loss I’ve experienced in about eight months, it’s obvious to me that shakes are low in calories and a healthy alternative to cereal.
