Exercises to improve your health, energy, digestion and your love of life!

Did the title of this article catch your attention? I hope so. Most of us don’t mind discovering new ways to feel better and have more energy. However, I’m afraid I’m not going to teach you anything you don’t already know.

Some people talk about the “benefits” of exercise, such as increasing blood flow

to your brain and major organs, improving digestion, reducing stress, increasing

alertness and strengthening your immune system. That’s one way of looking at it.

Another way is that since our bodies are meant to move every day, it’s not that

exercises brings us “benefits” – this should be our natural state – but it is more

that not exercising actually has negative consequences!

According to an article published in the Health & Fitness sections of About.com

Site, skipping exercise for two days in a row has negative effects on health.

It makes sense that we are meant to live an active life. Being sedentary was not the

norm for human beings, even in the Western world, until just a few decades ago.

If you want better health, better digestion, more energy and a love of life, make a

commitment to exercise EVERY DAY, even if it’s just to get out for 30 minutes.

minutes walk.

Personally, I have never had an exercise session: riding a bike, a long walk, hiking, yoga,

lifting weights or running – I regret that. Although I might not have felt like

doing it when I started out, I never thought to myself, “Wow, I shouldn’t have gone for

that bike ride” or “That yoga class was a bad idea!”

***Exercise and Hunger***

When you exercise every day, you will awaken your “true hunger”. If you have read my

book “The Raw Secrets,” (http://www.therawsecrets.com) you know the importance

to eat when you are really hungry.

We know, for example, that hunger is widely recognized as a sign of health. Lack of

appetite is also widely recognized as a sign of poor health.

Now, many of you have written to ask about this very concept of hunger. Some people

say that if they only eat when they are really hungry, they hardly eat anything!

Not even enough to hold them.

The key to awakening this lost feeling of hunger is to exercise every day.

***Walking More for Health***

I am personally trying to implement a new habit in my life. Every morning after waking up

Upstairs, I’m going for a walk. While this isn’t the only exercise I try to do, it’s a great way to

start the day

Otherwise, what I usually do is start working right away or check my e-mail.

emails Not a good thing With the morning walk, it gives me time to wake up, breathe.

fresh air, do some exercise, meditate (or something like that), and if I want I can

listening to audiobooks on my iPod while I walk.

Are there many health benefits to walking? Yes, but those are a lot of health benefits.

of exercising in general. A brisk 1 hour hike with some hills burns around 300

calories, as much as a 30-minute jog.

Walking is an exercise that most people can do, and the joys of walking are numerous.

Breathing fresh air, taking the time to get to know new places, beautiful surroundings, etc. It is

it is also an exercise that most people can do or start doing.

If one day you have no desire to exercise, go for an hour walk. you will do it

feel much better afterwards.

A dog needs to be walked every day or else it will not stay healthy. Is not the same?

for us?

***Rebound exercises for health***

What exercises can you do on a rainy day? Some people like to go running in the rain,

the mud and the cold. They are the brave ones. I like to see them from my

window. But seriously, that’s not my style.

What can you do instead? I found a great exercise that I can do indoors when it rains (or

when it’s too cold to go outside). It is the rebound, a form of exercise that is complete

and has several health benefits.

I will not talk about the so-called benefits of “cellular exercise”. For the rise-

downward bouncing movement, apparently the lymph is set in motion and this

Helps detoxify and delay aging. I’m not sure if this is true, but it sounds

great.

For me, the real benefits of rebounding is that it’s something you can do inside a

rainy day. Also, it can be a great cardio endurance toning workout if you know what to do.

to do with the rebounder.

So two tips for rebound:

1- Get a good rebounder. Not those cheap ones at Walmart. get something that

last and will give you a real jump. My rebounder is a NEEDAK that I bought on E-bay.

2- Get a training DVD for rebounder. Most people have no idea what to do with

your rebounder. I had one for years and all I did with it was

jump up and down from time to time, and it became boring. Since then, I got a great DVD.

that I eat several workouts, one that lasts 45 minutes and is ideal for many

aspects of fitness. You can get it from Urban Rebounding, a company that also sells

rebounders

***The Magic of Calisthenics***

Everyone should learn a series of bodyweight exercises. It’s not just them

something you can do anywhere (even when traveling), but they’re also great for

build strength and endurance.

Calisthenics include push-ups, pull-ups, squats, lunges, etc., including the

thousands of variations on each exercise that can allow you to get the results you

want (strength or endurance training).

In a future article, I will give you a bodyweight exercise routine that you can practice

anywhere to get a great workout at no cost.

***Multitask***

Lastly, I would like to add that doing cardio or walking can be a

wonderful way to grow and learn. You can listen to recordings (either on tape or

CD player or iPod) to learn languages, listen to audiobooks and learn something

useful at the same time.

When I was studying German, Spanish and Portuguese, I used all the

minute I was able to hear language learning methods, even during exercise

(but not during sleep!).

Now, I listen to audiobooks (I have an Audible subscription – http://

http://www.audible.com) and learn about things that interest me. I listen to audiobooks

when I’m on my bike, when I’m out for a walk, and of course when I’m driving. I listen to

the music too, and sometimes I just look at the scenery.

It is totally up to you if you use this exercise time to learn and grow. Goal

keep in mind that daily exercise is a requirement for health, and also a great joy!
