Keto Diet – What do you know about?
Hello, I am writing this blog on a topic that I simply have to share because it has been transformative for my wife and I… the Keto diet.
My wife hadn’t made any plans to start dieting this year, although we both needed to lose weight, as we’ve both gained 20-25 pounds since retiring in 2013.
What happened was: In church, the couple sitting behind us were telling us how their wife had lost 8 pounds in about 9-10 days on the KETO diet.
Well, needless to say, it sparked a conversation about what the KETO diet is and how it works. Without going into every nook and cranny about the mechanics of how it works on this blog, they basically explained that the KETO diet puts your body into ketosis. Brief description of what is a ketogenic diet
The ketogenic diet is a low-carb, moderate-protein, high-fat diet that puts the body in a metabolic state known as ketosis.
When your body is in a state of ketosis, the liver produces ketones which become the main source of energy for the body.
The ketogenic diet is also known as the ketogenic (key-toe) diet, low-carb diet, and low-carb high-fat (LCHF).
So why is it so amazing and why is it taking the world by storm?
Because it completely reverses the way your body works (in a good way) as well as changing the way you view nutrition.
It is based on the premise that your body was designed to function more efficiently as a fat burner than a sugar burner.

My wife and I were so inspired and impressed by our friend’s rapid weight loss results and his explanation of the simplicity of what you could and could not eat as it would not severely alter the way we eat and enjoy food. which we normally eat anyway. .
Well long story short we bought some suggested starter foods and prepared our meals as suggested and to our BIG AND AMAZING SURPRISE in 8 days my wife lost 9lbs and I lost 11lbs.
That was 4 months ago and since then we have both lost over 20 pounds and several inches from our waists, hips, and neck (a complete makeover). This is really exciting when friends and family comment on how great we look, and the obvious weight loss can be directly attributed to that. In fact, we constantly sit at the table and are surprised: “how well we are eating.” So often, we look at ourselves and say, “I can’t believe we’re eating so well on a diet.”
We are now hearing throughout our church from other people who have seen my wife and I or heard from someone else about what the KETO diet has done for us, and have gone on it and are getting similar results.
I could do so much more, but as promised, I didn’t want to make this one long blog, I just had to share this with my friends, family, and followers of this blog.
So I hope this helps someone and encourages you if you need just that little push to start losing a few pounds this year.
