Simple trick: how to freestyle rap well enough to impress your friends

In this article I am going to show you how you can learn how to rap well in freestyle enough to impress your friends. If you’re reading this article, it probably means you’re ready to develop some skill when it comes to the art of freestyle rapping. You should keep in mind that this can be learned, but it does require some work and dedication.

I’m going to show you something you can start doing right away to improve your rhyming skills. Some people take freestyle rapping very seriously and even compete in national competitions where money and a respectable reputation can be earned.

Other people don’t take this so seriously, but like to do it with their friends and family for fun. There have been many times where I’ve been hanging out with my friends and one of us puts on a crazy beat and we start to flow. When this happens, there’s always at least one of my kids who has no idea what he’s doing, but I always give them an “A” for effort.

Are you that of the group that is the odd ball? The one who is seemingly always screwing up the rotation and looking like the sword of the pack. I’m going to share with you a little trick that will help you the next time you and your friends decide to start a rap cipher.

The simple little trick I am talking about that will help you is to have prewrites. These are nothing more than pre-written raps that you store in your head for moments like the one above. You’re probably thinking to yourself that you’re supposed to freestyle off the top of your head, I can’t use prescribed raps.

Here’s how to use them correctly:

You’ll want to fix some raps that are geared towards places where you normally freestyle rap with your friends. For example, if most of the time your ciphers take place in the basement, you’ll want to do raps about things that have to do with the basement. If your ciphers sometimes take place in the car, you’ll want to write your raps about being in a car.

Now when it’s your turn to rap, you’ll begin by saying one of your many pre-written flows. As he spits, he should make mental notes of things around him at the time, so that when he’s done with his prewriting, he’ll be able to seamlessly enter top-of-the-head mode.

This is a great technique to get you going in your freestyle rapping. Now you know how to freestyle rap well enough to impress your friends or anyone.
