New York, also known as the Big Apple, the city that never sleeps is one of the largest cities in the world. New York is the center of business, music, art and culture. You can get to New York by plane, train and bus. There are many airports; John F. Kennedy International Airport is the largest; the best way to get from the heart to Manhattan is by taxi; two Penn station train stations and Grand Central terminal; and many bus stations. Greyhound is America’s leading private bus company. Once in New York, you should definitely buy a map because even though there is a large network of transportation, it can easily get lost.

There are a host of landmarks, the most popular of which are: The Statue of Liberty is open every day of the year except Christmas. You must take the ferry to get here and it would be advisable to reserve a spot on the ferry. The Brooklyn Bridge has a fantastic view of Manhattan, Time Square, Lincoln Center, Rockefeller Plaza, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the Empire State Building, the World Trade Center, and many others.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the largest museum in the Western Hemisphere, is so large that you can’t visit it in a single day, but it is well worth your time. Visiting El Museo del Barrio should be an interesting experience because it is the only museum dedicated to Puerto Rican art. There are a huge number of art, culture, science and technology museums with great exhibits. You must visit Lower Manhattan on foot because it is a great feeling to look up and see the famous skyscrapers. There are many different companies that offer city bus tours, but due to heavy traffic, tours take a long time. For entertainment, you can choose from a wide variety of Broadway shows; New York has a large number of cinemas and theaters, you must buy Time Out New York, the best entertainment guide. There is practically a cafe, bar, disco, pub, restaurant on every corner so you shouldn’t have a problem finding a place to have a beer or eat a good meal.
