Basima – Rich Lebanese sweets

Basima is a Lebanese sweet very rich in pistachio and pine nuts. It is the crown jewel of all assorted Baklava cakes.

Basima is a sweet made from Knafeh dough. It is also considered one of the sweets that make up the assorted Baklava collection. However, it is a much richer cake than all the items in this collection. It includes a very generous amount of pistachios, pine nuts and almonds, which give it a rich and unique flavor that is unmatched by any other type of Lebanese sweets.

The crust is made from the famous Knafeh dough. This is the same dough used in Basma and the cheese filled Knafeh. Basma and cheese-filled knafeh are two very popular desserts in the Middle East and Arab countries. It is made primarily of water and dough, but is formed into long, thin threads that turn brown after cooking.

From below, it is supported by the Knafeh mass. In the middle, it is stuffed with pistachios. And from above, there are more and more nuts: pine nuts and almonds. Thus, this dessert includes three types of rich, high-quality dried fruit. Also, since it only has one layer of crust, just on the bottom, it is very soft and chewy.

Basima is the favorite dessert for many people. Its soft texture and its richness in nuts make it a unique piece that is much richer than any other type of pastry in the varied Baklava collection. Their presence in these dessert arrangements makes them look richer and more valuable.

It is usually served with other types of Baklava to form an arrangement of Lebanese sweets. It is, like all other types of Middle Easter cakes, consumed as a dessert.

Because it is made by a single manufacturer, Basima is not as widespread as the rest of the Baklava types. However, it is very popular in Lebanon.

Baklava Assortment is an excellent choice for gifts during ceremonies, meetings and celebrations, as well as as a gift for the holidays. It is especially used as a gift during religious festivals.

Basima is a relatively new dessert in the collection of Lebanese sweets. He is about twelve years old. The oldest type of assorted Baklava is the original Baklava piece, dating back a few hundred years. Most of the other types also date back over a hundred years. Most of them are derived from the authentic original piece of Baklava.
