Brian Brohm: Draft Day Picks

Brian Brohm was born in Louisville, Kentucky on September 23, 1985. He grew up in this area dreaming of playing for the University of Louisville, and before he knew it, this dream had come true. From an early age, it was obvious to everyone around him that the future in soccer looked bright.

During his high school days, Brohm set the nation on fire with his flashy approval numbers. In his career, Brohm has thrown for 10,579 yards and 119 touchdowns. Along with these individual statistics, he also led his high school, Trinity, to the state title in 2001, 2002, and 2003. While a junior in high school, Brohm was beginning to gain national attention for his orthotics in field. It was in that year that he got his first taste of big time when he appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated. As a senior, Brohm was named Kentucky State Mr. Football, as well as Gatorade Player of the Year; these are two top-tier achievements.

In January 2004, Brohm announced his decision to play college football at the University of Louisville. He had many offers from top schools like Notre Dame, Alabama, and Tennessee, to name a few. Although Brohm did not start a game as a freshman, he performed well enough to earn Conference USA Freshman of the Year honors. Much like his father and brother before him, Brohm he eventually became a full-time starter at Louisville during the 2005 season.

Brian Brohm will spend his senior season in Louisville despite rumors that he would enter the NFL Draft early. Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 220 pounds, it’s safe to say that Brohm will be a first-round pick in the 2008 Draft.
