Children’s Crafts For Dad On Father’s Day

There are tons of fun and easy crafts your kids can make for their dad on Father’s Day. For these crafts to be mentioned, the materials are inexpensive and require minimal parental supervision. A double bonus for the busy mom!

The first gift your son might give his dad on Father’s Day is a dough footprint. 2 cups of flour, 1 cup of water, 1 cup of salt, and food coloring, and your child will have a blast playing in this squishy concoction! Just make sure the dough is relatively hard and flattened to about a half-inch thick before your child makes a handprint. Enter in the oven for 2-3 hours at 200 degrees until fully cooked. Then let it cool so your child can decorate with markers and glitter. Then your child’s personalized gift from the heart is finished.

The next craft to make for Father’s Day is a hand-painted coffee cup. All you need is a ceramic coffee mug, porcelain enamel 150 (sold at craft stores), and watercolor brushes. This craft is quick and easy to make. After your child has decided how to decorate his daddy mug, have him use the watercolor brush to apply the colored glaze to his design. Let air dry for 24 hours before baking in the oven for 30-40 minutes at 325 degrees and voila!

A personalized t-shirt or boxers is also a great gift for dad on Father’s Day. The materials needed are a cotton T-shirt or a pair of boxer shorts of the appropriate size, a piece of cardboard, and any type of fabric paint or markers your child wants to use to make their pattern. To ensure that the T-shirt or boxers do not bunch up and stain the paint on the fabric, it is recommended that you insert the cardboard under the T-shirt and tack it down. Then let your child unleash his creativity! Just make sure it’s completely dry before you give it to your dad!

The final project your child could do is a picture collage. Have your child choose pictures they would like to use, or take new pictures and have them develop them. Then use a label board or a piece of cardboard and ask your child to arrange the pictures however they see fit and glue them in place. As an added touch, your child could also use ribbon or glitter to decorate the borders of the collage. With a little help from mom, this project is sure to put a smile on any man’s face!

These crafts will not only keep your child busy, but also give him a sense of pride that he created something with his own hands for dad on Father’s Day!
