Get a higher page ranking on Google

Google is among the major search engines on the World Wide Web. Most Internet users prefer to use Google as their main search engine than all the others put together. For this reason, it has become imperative that your web address, site or blog or article rank as high as possible on Google search results pages. However, this is not as easy as it usually seems.

Internet marketers and search engine optimization professionals use several different methods to achieve a higher page rank. Not all of these techniques are always effective due to various market factors and also because Google tends to change its policies to get rid of those people who are using unacceptable methods to rank high.

The most basic technique for getting a good page rank is having keyword rich content. Keyword research thus becomes the most critical phase of any internet marketing strategy because that is what is going to define the whole plan. Keywords should be chosen carefully and then carefully integrated into the main body of the content, be it a website, article, or blog. Balancing keyword density is another area that you need to focus on. Your article shouldn’t appear mindlessly cluttered with keywords, and it shouldn’t be too watered down either. Ideally, your keyword density should be between 3-5%. It’s okay to go a little higher or lower, but going below 2% is just as bad as going over the top. Once you have your keywords, you need to frame the content to fit perfectly without distorting the language and staying within the limits of density.

The average length of articles and blog posts is fixed at around 500 words because users tend to read only about that amount and then move on. For a 500 word article, the keywords should be repeated 4-6 times, with minor fluctuations being acceptable. This is known as optimizing content for a good page rank.

Another thing you can do is use blog or article directories that have a good page rank on Google. For example, Blogger.com ranks much higher with Google than other blogging websites, so it is best to use Blogger if you are optimizing for Google. Using a low ranking website will also affect the ranking of your blogs. There are many tools that can help you check the page rank of various sites. You can find them by doing a search.

Page linking also affects your page ranking. The more other websites or blogs link to yours, the higher your page rank. It also works in reverse. You can use a blog on Blogger or create a Squidoo post on the main website. Such cross-links to high-traffic websites will automatically give your own page a ranking boost.

These are just some of the things you can do to get a higher page rank with Google. A good approach is to implement as many techniques as possible to achieve maximum effectiveness.
