Home remedy for acid reflux with 3 common kitchen items

If you’re like most people with acid reflux, then the easiest way to find relief is to take some antacid or acid blocker tablets. However, this is a short term solution and you may suffer from unwanted side effects. You can find some home remedies that are just as effective as these medications. Plus, most of the time, you don’t have to worry about side effects. In fact, you should be able to make your own home remedy from some of the common items in your kitchen.

Blackstrap molasses can be used as a home remedy for acid reflux. The only thing that will bother you is the taste. It has the ability to protect your esophagus by creating a protective layer due to its stickiness. It also heals any injured areas in the esophagus due to exposure to stomach acid. Acid reflux can sometimes cause a sore throat when you wake up in the morning. You can calm him down with black strap molasses. If you can’t tolerate the taste, you can use honey instead. Honey shares similar characteristics as blackstrap molasses. For relief, simply take at least 2 teaspoons daily.

Ginger root is a common ingredient in the kitchen. It helps improve digestion, treat inflammation and nausea. This is how you can prepare ginger root tea as a home remedy for acid reflux. Peel the skin and rub the ginger root against a scraper. Place the grated ones in a pot with boiling water. If you find it too strong or bitter, add a little lemon juice or honey. Ginger tea can be purchased at any health store, but it may contain caffeine. As you know, caffeine can aggravate the condition of acid reflux.

Another kitchen item that you use to treat acid reflux is baking soda. Add 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda to 1/2 cup of water. Drink it and you’ll burp in no time. This solution acts as a buffer against acid in the stomach. Never try to mix baking soda with vinegar. It can damage the mucosal lining of your gastrointestinal tract.

These three ingredients are readily available at home and don’t cost a lot of money. It only takes a few minutes to prepare these simple home remedies to relieve acid reflux symptoms. However, if they don’t work, you should see your doctor, especially if your condition is severe. You may need proper treatments for acid reflux disease or gastroesophageal reflux disease which can lead to more serious complications.
