How can pressure washing the exterior of your home add value to your home?

Let’s face it, we are all busy in this day and age. We’re driving around only to realize that the outside of her house looks like something out of a horror movie. Notice that her roof is green, her siding is green, her deck appears to have a rug, and her doorway is black. If you’re looking to sell your home, all of this can really affect your asking price.

We all want to get the most out of the sale of our home, but how? The average homeowner doesn’t know what they can pressure wash effectively or if the substrate needs to be replaced. A prospective buyer may tell you I’m offering this price because the roof and siding need to be replaced. When you can actually clean.

All of this can be daunting. What should I clean first? Can I pressure wash that? Should I use this chemical I found at the hardware store? To properly clean your roof and siding, specialized equipment and chemicals are needed. A pressure washer from Home Depot just isn’t going to cut it.

To properly clean a roof, you need to use a low pressure system (soft wash) to clean. A soft wash system uses low pressure, about the same amount as a garden hose, but a higher volume of water. Never use high pressure or a surface cleaner to clean an asphalt roof. A professionally cleaned ceiling can make even the dirtiest ceilings look like new again.

With all the different types of liners out there, one needs to be very careful if they are going to use pressure to clean their liner. A proper house wash uses low pressure and lets the chemical do the work. That’s in everything from brick to vinyl siding. Additionally, when commercial grade chemicals are used, proper steps must be taken to prevent damage to the surrounding landscape.

Now let’s go to the carpet, I mean your deck. It is best to start by removing everything from the cover. If there is a thick layer of moss, I recommend starting by using a high ceiling blower to remove the moss. The next step is to apply a mold and mildew remover. Let it sit and then rinse it off with light pressure.

A professional pressure washing company can take your property from the worst-looking house on the block to the best in a matter of a day. If you do all of the above, you can add thousands to your selling price and put more money in your pocket.
