I found my lucky numbers today in Chinese numerology

A numerology reading remains one of the least known and certainly least understood forms of divination. Knowledge of the mystical and spiritual world of astrology, the I-ching, angel guidance, tea leaf reading and Runes is also mostly unknown. And, strictly in the numerology neighborhood, there is even more misunderstanding between the different types of numerology. Each culture has its own version. Many feel that one of the most understood is the western version. Maybe not. If you are familiar with Feng Shui, you may think that it is Chinese numerology that is best understood. You certainly have my lucky numbers.

The fact is that, as a result of Feng Shui, Chinese numerology is becoming more and more a part of the Western world. Both are guides to achieve harmony with your life in the environment and your path. A Western or Chinese version numerology reading uses the same numbers from 1 to 9 to understand where you are in your life and what your life path is. They each have double numbers as well.

But the numbers in Chinese numerology are extremely special to Chinese society and increasingly to Western society. The number 8 is an extremely prosperous number for the Chinese, any number with an 8 is prosperous. In fact, if the street number of a house or a building has an 8, its sale price will be much more expensive than those without the 8.

The number 518 means “I will prosper”, and the number 168 is known as the path to prosperity. Number 888 means that you are three times more prosperous. For a life of prosperity, just be sure to add 1314. Interestingly, 4 is not considered a good number because it is associated with death. But since it is a life of prosperity, it ends in 4 with death. Make sense.

Avoidance of the number 4 is known as “tetraphobia”. That’s why buildings rarely have a 4th or 14th floor (or 13th as in the west). But there are lucky numbers like 6, 8, and 9. To get these numbers like phone numbers, driver’s license numbers, bank account numbers, and vehicle license plates, Chinese people will pay a lot of money. It certainly made it easier to find my lucky numbers today!

Feng Shui has highlighted some of these numerological numbers in the western world. In the West, it would be hard to tell if a number is auspicious or even lucky unless it is a highly touted winning number from a casino in Las Vegas.

I have never approached a numerology reading with knowledge of these numbers. Maybe it’s time we started paying more attention to them, as well as numerology and how numbers can affect our lives. Numerology has certainly appealed to the Chinese for 4,000 years. Pythagoras first introduced numerology to the West in the 1st century BCE. C. It doesn’t seem like we’ve done much with it since then. We may need another 3,000 years to get it right.
