Pedal cars – a unique gift idea for children

Sometimes it can be extremely stressful trying to think of a perfect gift for our children, nieces/nephews, cousins, and grandchildren when it comes to their birthdays or Christmas. We go to great lengths to be the recipients of that one-of-a-kind gift that will be the talk of the event. We want to get that special toy that our son really likes and wants to play with.

Well, from my experience, I think pedal cars are the ultimate in unique gift ideas for kids. In a world where technology is everything, pedal powered toys are a refreshing blast from the past that can easily compete with some of today’s most popular tech toys for kids. They’re just plain trendy fun that promotes healthier lifestyles and great imaginative play. They let your child feel like a “grown up” as they put out pretend fires in their bright red fire truck or catch bad guys in their old school police car.

Instead of our toddlers and preschoolers growing up too quickly playing on a cell phone that in most cases seems to have more devices than our real-life adult phones, ride-ons offer so much more. Whether it’s a pedal car, plane or train, any of these make a great gift idea for those who are tired of giving the typical primary color tech kid toy. When my little boy received an InSTEP Pedal Fire Truck for Christmas, his eyes lit up with excitement. It was such a different gift from the ones she had already received that Christmas. Watching him ride around the house in his fire truck was as much fun for me as it was for him, and to this day it remains his favorite toy.

For those of you who are struggling for gift ideas for little ones, I suggest you search the web for these unique toys. There is such a huge selection of cars, trains, trucks, and planes that it can be a challenge to find a favourite! They are also reasonably priced for high quality construction. Most pedal cars are made of solid steel and most modern models are made of plastic. Basically, there is something for everyone. I think sometimes it’s more fun for the adults who get to choose the style of pedal because it’s the kid who actually gets the gift!
