Presidents who died in office – The pattern
As a practicing astrologer during the electoral process of 1980 and 2000, I received many questions about the possibility that whoever was elected president would die in office. Why? Several sitting presidents had died of natural and unnatural causes (assassinations) during more than one hundred years of our nation’s history. Since these events had happened repeatedly, it suggests the possibility of them happening again. People were sincerely concerned about casting a vote that might result in their chosen candidate being involved in a tragic event. As each election process unfolded, I along with many other astrologers diligently searched to determine this unusual political outcome. My early involvement in the political process and political astrology was sporadic, superficial, and relatively naive. As I have aged, the political process has increased in importance in my life. In 2008, as we went through the primaries, the elections, and finally the 2009 inauguration, the question came up again and again. I was reasonably sure that the energy pattern that existed for that extended period of time had ended and would not directly influence current events, but I still have questions about the possibility. I want to explore the astrological patterns that were in play during previous presidencies and why I feel it is part of our political history and not part of our future. Maybe I can choose the words to define what happened and that this pattern is no longer functional.
We must begin by realizing that anyone who pursues such a position knows the dangers of assuming that position. Life doesn’t come with guarantees. The best care provided to protect the president may not be enough. All candidates for that particular office know and understand this. There is no way to protect yourself against stupidity, prejudice and senseless violence. Some humans do really stupid and selfish things and don’t ask us for permission to do it. All life is sacred. Our personal opinion and bias are not a sufficient reason to use forceful violence, but it does happen. Also, life in general happens. People get sick, have accidents, and leave us before we’re ready. Such is life and living.
We need to go back to the time period when this pattern first emerged and examine the influence surrounding several of our national tragedies. The cycle we will examine occurs approximately every 20 years. It is the common conjunction (union) of the transiting cultural planets, Jupiter and Saturn. That union of the two gas giants marks a beginning, but those planets are in constant motion, so time and place are just a marker and not a constant. Jupiter takes about 12 years to complete one orbit (cycle) around the Sun. Saturn takes about 29 years to make the same circle due to its more distant orbit. During the 12 years of Jupiter’s journey, Saturn will have advanced several signs in the zodiac. Jupiter will have to travel further to reach and reconnect with Saturn to form a new conjunction (union) in a new degree and sign. By the time this rush-and-wait pattern occurs, approximately 20 years will have passed. Our cycle to study is 20 years and this is a cycle (20 years) that exists within two cycles (12 and 29 years).
Beginning with the union of Jupiter and Saturn (Jup/Sat) around 1840, presidents who were elected or sat at or near the time of those conjunctions died of natural or unnatural causes. As if that were not enough, there were many attempts on the lives of several presidents. If we add increments of 20 years to 1840, we find approximately 1860, 1880, 1900, 1920, 1940, 1960, etc. as possible. By looking at actual history and precise cycle markers (date and position), a cyclical pattern emerges. The question is is it a finite cycle, a point where it ends, or is it a continuous pattern and can it affect us today? As I did my research on the 43 US Presidents and their connection to the US Charter, this somewhat terrifying possibility became a research necessity. What I found was so specific that I want to share those findings with you.
Seven of those 20-year conjunctions occurred close to election years whose year ended in “0”. Four presidents were assassinated (by gun): Presidents Lincoln, McKinley, Garfield, and Kennedy. Two died of natural causes: Presidents William Harrison and Franklin Roosevelt. Presidents Zachary Taylor and Warren Harding died in office of alleged natural causes. The murder claims were never supported by subsequent investigations. There is an anomaly in the dating of the two early deaths with this cycle that we are studying. They were close but not precise. That particular Jup/Sat union was the first in this 140-year series. Why a particular time period of 140 years, and not before that time, and not since that time?
The Great Mutation or Great Conjunction of Jup/Sat is a cycle of approximately 20 years that repeats itself. On Aug 30, 1742 Jup/Sat they were at 27 Leo 09. On Mar 18, 1762 they were at 12 Ari 21. Both were before the Revolutionary War but were fermenting periods of trouble between Britain and the colonies. November 5, 1782 followed on Saturday 28, 2007, with the Revolutionary War active. Since we didn’t elect a president until 1789, neither of these conjunctions were relevant to the presidency. Notice that the three conjunctions were all in the fire element. The repeating cycle of the conjunction Jup/Sat is seven in a single element, then one in the second element, back to the initial element for one passage, then back to the second element for seven passages, and then repeats the entire cycle. It is a true dance of the planets. Note: Only the first pass of each cycle is included in this article.
On July 17, 1802, Jup/Sat came out of the fire and entered the earth element for a single time on 5 Vir 08. The fledgling US was constantly at war with someone and we had a president (Jefferson), but we didn’t he died. in the office. On June 19, 1821, the conjunction was at 24 Ari 39 (again on fire for a passage) and there was an assassination attempt on Andrew Jackson on January 30, 1835. After that conjunction of the fire element, we began the passage of seven cycles of the Jup. /Sat conjunction on earth. From the list I used in my research, not all assassination attempts were given, but more than 90 attempts were mentioned and were part of this continuing pattern.
The next Jup/Sat conjunction was January 26, 1842 at 8 Cap 54. President Benjamin Harrison died in 1841 (the year before the conjunction, a month after taking office, of natural causes, elected 1940) . President Zachary Taylor died in 1850 and his death was suspicious but was not proven to be anything other than natural. There is an anomaly here in time, but the question is whether it is specific to the election/inauguration process (date with “0” year election) or a sitting president while that conjunction is in effect (20 years). The other six cycles in this series of seven are much more specific.
On October 21, 1861, the conjunction was at 18 Vir 22 (US Neptune 4Ës), and President Abaraham Lincoln was assassinated on April 14, 1865, just weeks after his second inauguration. There was a previous attempt on his life on February 23, 1861. The conjunction of April 18, 1881 was at 01 Tau 36 and President James Garfield was assassinated on July 2, 1881. On November 28, 1901 at 14 Cap 00 (opposite USA Sun), President William McKinley was assassinated on September 6, 1901 in his second term. He was succeeded by President Theodore Roosevelt, who had a failed assassination attempt on October 13, 1912.
On September 10, 1921 at 26 Vir 36, President Warren Harding died of natural causes (murder was suspected but not proven) in 1923. August 8, 1940 at 14 Tau27 was the next step and President Franklin D Roosevelt died in 1945 just after the start of his fourth term. An assassination attempt was made on FDR early in his first term on February 15, 1933. Roosevelt was succeeded by President Harry Truman, who experienced an assassination attempt on November 1, 1950. The Jup/Sat conjunction of the seventh element of earth was on February 19, 1961 on 25 Cap 12 (in the US Pluto), and President John F. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963, just two years into his first term. President Kennedy experienced another attempt on his life on December 11, 1960 (between election and inauguration) and April 2, 1961 (threat). There were a staggering number of attempts or threats against various presidents during subsequent cycles, but President Kenney’s death was the last, natural or unnatural, in office.
President Richard Nixon suffered an attempt on his life on February 22, 1974, President Gerald Ford experienced attacks on February 5 and September 22, 1975. President James Carter experienced an attempt on March 5, 1979. All were governed by the Jup/Sat conjunction of 1960 and occurred before the next conjunction which left the earth element and entered the air element on December 31, 1980 at 9 Lib 30. A near-fatal attempt was made on the life of the President Ronald Reagan on March 30, 1981, against President George HW Bush on April 13, 1993, and against President William Clinton on September 12 and October 29, 1994. All of these attempts were governed by the above conjunction of 1960. The current Jup/Sat cycle occurred on May 28, 2000 at 22 Tau 43 and attempts were made against President George W. Bush on February 7, 2001, September 11, 2001 (9/11 conspiracy? September?) and 10 d e May 2005. This conjunction remains in effect until the next conjunction, which is in the air element. The next Jup/Sat conjunction will take place on December 21, 2020 at 00 Aqu 29, in an air sign. The cycle of seven patterns of the Jup/Sat conjunction on earth has ended.
In my book Presidents of Hope and Change I concluded with “What is important right now is that the pattern of seven ended with President Kennedy. The old pattern is over. The pattern that concerned us is part of our history and not ours.” . our future. I think that is very good news. It doesn’t give us a guarantee that nothing will happen because there are other patterns and activations, but this particular pattern has been completed.”
