The Doggy Burger Helper

This Doggy Hamburger Helper Natural Dog Food Recipe is a complete meal that is veterinarian approved for your dog. You’ll want to make this recipe work for you by making it bigger or smaller based on your dog’s needs and size. A larger dog will eat more than a smaller dog. Also, dogs that get more exercise than others will also need more.

If you are not sure what the serving size is for your dog, ask your vet. They can tell you how much to give for food. Remember to tell your vet if you plan to serve with a commercial dry food or just to get the proper serving size. You will need the following ingredients to make your helper:

or 2 cups of ground beef

or 4 hard boiled eggs

or 1 cup of cooked natural oatmeal

or 2 jars of baby food carrots

or 2 jars of green beans or baby food peas

or ¼ cup cottage cheese

There are 2 ways to prepare this dish, cooked or raw. If you are going to cook your dog’s food, you will first want to start making your Doggy Hamburger Helper by frying the meat in a skillet in a tablespoon of canola oil. This will give you the amount of good fat that you should have in your diet every day. Cook the oatmeal as directed on the package. Chop the hard-boiled eggs and add them to a large mixing bowl.

Pour the baby food jars, add the cooked ground beef and oatmeal, cottage cheese and mix well. You can substitute oatmeal for a type of pasta of your choice. Let cool and serve at room temperature. When you choose to serve your Doggy Hamburger Helper raw, you just won’t cook the meat. Everything else will be prepared in the same way.

To stock

Storing the Doggy Hamburger Helper is very easy. If you have prepared food for a week, you will need to freeze some portions and refrigerate. You can only safely store your dog helper in the refrigerator for up to three days. After that, just like your own food, it must be thrown away. The rest can easily be stored in the freezer. Add the appropriate portion of food to a freezer bag or container and close it.

If you use sachets, you can flatten them to save space. Every day take out a sachet or container and thaw in the refrigerator. If you feed your dog early in the day, you may want to take the food out the day before or at least the night before. Do not defrost on the counter, as you risk introducing bacteria into your dog’s food. This is especially true if you are feeding the raw version of this meal. Once the helper has thawed, you can let it sit at room temperature or in the microwave until lukewarm before serving. Either way, your dog will be very happy to have this nutritious meal.
