The Long Island Medium: Is She Cold Reading or REALLY Talking to Spirit?

Does Theresa Caputo really talk to spirits?

Is she the genuine article…or is she just doing cold reading tricks that gullible people believe, simply because they WANT to believe? What do REAL scientists say about psychics and mediums, and people who claim to communicate with spirits on the other side? Is this all new age nonsense, or is there real science that supports the idea that the afterlife is real, and that we’ll all go there after THIS life is over?

The truth is, we get a lot of questions about famous psychic mediums like Theresa Caputo, John Edward, George Anderson, Kim Russo, and others of similar stature.

Some interesting facts about Theresa Caputo:

Long before he was a household name, he made a name for himself in New York by doing live (and often free) readings on the radio for the well-known grievance organization called “The Forever Family Foundation,” a nonprofit organization. dedicated to helping bereaved families overcome loss.

And while it’s certainly not always 100% accurate, long before the TV show, it had stumped skeptics and scientists who would listen… hoping to spot some sort of hoax, fraud, or common cold-reading technique.

The funny thing is, while listening to her years ago, before she was a well-known celebrity, I couldn’t help but be blown away by the incredible amount of super-specific information that used to surface during her live readings with complete strangers. .making it very difficult to explain away as fraud, forgery, or good guesswork.

(and to be totally honest with you, very often… WAY more obvious and interesting than the stuff that shows up on TV)

So what about the skeptics and cynics and those who debunk ALL psychic phenomena?

Honestly? You are wrong. (and I know…since I used to be one of them!)

The truth is that EVERY psychic, clairvoyant or medium has to live on their own merits and their own readings… the fact is, while skeptics like to argue that they are all doing cold reading tricks, In most of the cases. , those same skeptics can’t do the same things they claim are so EASY for psychics to do.

In other words… you’ll see a famous skeptical claim that the medium is just doing “cold reading”… and that it’s very easy to do, and it’s just a guessing game.

After-

When they are actually asked to DUPLICATE or reproduce the results the mediums get, in front of the same audience, or for a similar test of scientific accuracy…they fail to get anywhere CLOSE to the results the mediums received (and these are objectively measured results of believers and skeptics alike, and agreed upon before these tests are performed).

For examples of this?

See Dr. Gary Schwartz’s work with mediums like John Edward, George Anderson, and others at the University of Arizona. (which later became part of the HBO documentary on life after death… and the book, “The Afterlife Experiments”)

Or the Windbridge Institute’s work on the same topics, right now in 2013.

Or the University of Virginia’s work on psychic media and the accuracy of what comes up during psychic sessions.

The truth is that there is an OVERWHELMING amount of evidence supporting the idea that psychic mediums are genuine. Not all of those. And certainly some are superior to others. But dismissing the idea that some psychics or mediums get accurate information from a source we don’t yet understand…whether from SPIRIT or somewhere else, is completely misleading! (because they ARE… and no matter how loud the skeptics and naysayers are, the facts are the facts)

I have no doubt that the future will actually be far more amazing than anything I can imagine. Now, my own suspicion is that the Universe is not only weirder than we think, but weirder than we think. they can Fictional. JB Haldane, evolutionary biologist. “When I’m Dead”
