However, Organizational Psychology is a deeply ingrained concept, but in simple terms it involves the application of various psychological principles in the workplace. It is about human interaction in the workplace and how interaction can be done in a better way to increase work efficiency, communication and the overall functioning of any organization.

The role of organizational psychologists is to design activities and develop schedules that allow better social interaction between people within the organization. They develop training principles and procedures, selection procedures and also design evaluation systems through which interaction within the organization can be improved. Organizations typically hire organizational psychologists to address issues related to employee turnover and morale. They also hire them to help them implement solutions that can address employee training and selection.

Organizational psychologists teach management how to select the right person for a particular job requirement and also establish the criteria through which they can be promoted. As part of their activities, they have to do a lot of research and also generate the right statistics so that their point can actually be implemented.

They develop tests that assess employee skills and determine their problem-solving abilities in order to improve office efficiency. These tests will not only determine the abilities of the employees, but also their mental abilities and emotional strengths. They will check to see if the employee displays traits that are associated with positive work values. The goal of using these tests is not only to hire the right staff, but also to ensure that those who are hired are not the ones who are likely to quit in the future. Beyond the effective hiring process, organizational psychologists are also known for developing coaching tools that will help improve relationships between coworkers and also help them deal with stressful situations.
