Christian words of encouragement: do you need them?

Life can be tough. You know that Jesus has saved you and is at work in you, but what about the practical side of living the victorious life day by day? For example, as a Christian, are you perplexed as to why you experience so much fear with all you know about the liberating power of Christ? Are you in the middle of a trial and just want to be reminded that you are not alone? Looking for encouragement to help you get out of bed in the morning and “make life” another day? Are you afraid of not having the strength to persevere?

Don’t worry, you are not alone! These are all real problems for all followers of Christ. We are all basically the same on the inside and have the same hurts, fears and challenges…and we were never meant to fight life’s struggles alone. Sometimes when our own faith seems weak, we need to “borrow” the faith of someone else who has overcome our struggles and seen the faithfulness of the Lord.

It is important that we do not isolate ourselves from other trusted Christians. Chances are there will be times of discouragement for all of us, and we need a Christian brother or sister to speak those precious words of Christian encouragement to us. If you find yourself especially isolated for any reason, consider doing a careful search of the Internet to find the Christian encouragement and fellowship you need at any time of the day or night.

Each of us can move toward greater spiritual freedom and joy by sharing Christian words of encouragement with one another. Often the insight of a fellow Jesus follower will be just the nugget of truth we need on any given day. And we are reminded that we are not alone.
