Film Awards and Nominations for Bruce Almighty

Bruce Nolan (Carrey) always wanted more from life. Working as a field news reporter, Bruce was only paying his fair share until he was promoted to news anchor. Standing in his way is Evan Baxter (Steve Carell), who ends up getting promoted before Bruce. This angers Bruce and he curses God (Morgan Freeman) for his dissatisfaction with his job and his life. Having heard enough of Bruce’s complaints, God decides to give Bruce a chance to be God while he takes a much-needed vacation. Bruce gladly accepts the offer and gets to work having fun and improving his personal life. After completing all the essential tasks, such as increasing the breast size of his girlfriend Grace (Jennifer Aniston), he quickly realizes that there are many people who need his attention. When Bruce finally manages to answer the growing list of prayers, he discovers just how complicated the job is. God is pleased to keep his position upon his return and is also pleased that Bruce has learned something in the process.

The Bruce Almighty movie had a fundamentally good message and plenty of laughs to go along with it. Carrey, Freeman and Aniston made a great acting team, which was evident in the nominations and awards the film received. Steve Carell would take a similar premise and turn it into his own hit comedy Evan Almighty, which was released in 2007. Following the release of Bruce Almighty, Carrey landed his best dramatic role to date in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, where he starred alongside to Kate Winslet. . The two provided a very intense and interesting on-screen romance along with some amazing cinematography. Both Bruce Almightly and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind are must-watch movies.
