“A goal that you want to achieve in a selected field or occupation with a well-thought-out plan to get there is called career planning.”

The world is moving very fast now, and the time has come when this meritocratic society accepts only those who have the right qualification and skills.

The old days are gone, when just a degree would help a person get a high-profile job through bribery or using some other means. Now is the time, when transparency in job hiring has taken place.

Challenges and competition are part of today’s society, and therefore career planning is the only task that can guide us to do what we want to do in our life, instead of just aimlessly changing jobs all the time. in the future.

We have seen many Pakistanis, who after completing the Intermediate do not know where to go, what to do and we have also seen graduates, who aimlessly graduate without any specialization. As a result, they only earn between 6 and 8 figures.

Career planning is one of the largest aspects of learning in our existence. We all have some intentions and we all think about having stability in our future lives, and for this, CAREER PLANNING serves as the key to success.

Career Planning makes a person properly reflect on their positive and negative aspects. Everything about your interest, about your creativity is made possible through proper analysis of ourselves.

Career planning basically starts when a person finishes secondary/upper secondary level of education. After that level, a person could go for that educational title, which would help him get a good job opportunity according to his skills at the right time.

Career Planning helps us design and formulate our future smoothly. For example, if a person wants to be a banker, then he or she would choose to go to ACCA or CA or MBA in finance after completing the Intermediate in commerce and Graduation in commerce/business administration. Otherwise I would go for the CAT or Master of Commerce course or even up to PhD level.

This pre-planning would be effective and would bring you benefits after effectively achieving educational goals. It also helps us assess our own personality, which helps us to know what type of work suits us according to our needs and abilities.

In short, career planning is like mapping our future. Without proper planning, no one could think of getting a desired job in the future.

Thinking about what we want to do and finding out more about the kind of training, education and skills we will need to achieve our career goal is the central goal of career planning.

It helps us to know the nature of the jobs we are interested in, such as educational requirements, salary, working conditions, fringe benefits, promotion possibilities, future prospect and helps us focus on the right dimension.

Career planning directs us, motivates us and helps us achieve what we want. A career goal is a specific vision, like an architect or a teacher, or a career goal can be a particular field we want to work in, like Media, Education, Medicine, Engineering, etc.

For those who will think about their future and career after completing education without desired long-term goals, they are the ones whose attempt could end up in smoke.

There are some cases and situations that force a person to plan ahead, such as high family family business status, lack of interest in studies or traditional work, low motivation, low financial status, etc. or some past educational traumas, which had made a person to plan after the wards.

Career planning is a lifelong process where we are always learning and growing, and as we do, our interests and needs change as well. Career planning is not just making plans to get our career, it also helps us to make many adjustments that will be along the ways we learn throughout our lives.

Those who have successful careers as educators, businessmen, managers, pilots, architects, bankers, doctors, etc. they are the ones who have made their way through proper guidance.

Sure, our parents have some wishes and expectations of us, but we also have our own. Therefore, we must also consider the opinion of others. For that, we could take the guidance of an educational advisor to get a better orientation towards new dimensional fields as well. Teachers, professionals, vocational guidance portals, Head educational consultants can also guide us, to have a better approach to our future.

We must have freedom of expression and freedom to choose our career as we have to lead our life that interests us. We must try to have an open mind to choose the right career at the right time.

According to a renowned professor,

“A few of us like to opt for those degree courses, that their family or a friend has advised them to adopt and that inappropriate knowledge caught them in a big mistake and

In this way, they cannot get good job opportunities according to their interests. Only proper career guidance would help a person to be on the right track beforehand. Few of us try to find the right path and follow the guidance of family or teacher to tell them what is good for them, what career is in demand, and what career suits their interests.”

The future is unpredictable, however, we can still make our place in this meritocratic world by making goals and career plans in advance, to get better opportunities in today’s pluralistic and globalized world.

We must pre-plan our goals under the supervision of professionals in a conscious state of mind, so that we can stick to our goals strategically and follow them towards the path of successful future.
