Run your way to great legs and a sexy butt! Part 1

When most people think of exercises for the legs and glutes, they think of lunges, squats, and dead lifts. Doing sprints will give you great results while developing your lung power. Now, if you enjoy these exercises, keep doing them, but try adding sprints to your routine and see what happens to your butt. Let me explain how sprinting can create an amazing looking butt in no time.

What is the gluteal fold?

The gluteal crease is the area where the butt meets the hamstring. If you have a well-developed gluteal and hamstring area, there will be a smooth transition between these two muscle groups. A less developed person could almost hold a pencil at the junction between the hamstring and gluteal muscles.

The sprint will develop this area!

You’ll be amazed at how sprinting will build definition and firm the gluteal crease. An added benefit is that sprinting builds proportionate muscles in the legs, hips, and, of course, the butt. I always teach sprinting on leg exercises and long distance running. Running will build definition and tone your lower body better than resistance training. Not to mention, it burns more fat too!

The sprint is primarily powered by your Gluteus Maximus!

Jogging does not work this muscle to a great extent. Running does a much better job of engaging this muscle powerfully. The glutes are the largest muscle in the body, so a more explosive, intense movement is required to contract this muscle forcefully. Running involves several fast HARD contractions that really firm this muscle.
