The glorious neighborhoods of Manhattan

Making a list of the best things in Manhattan is the easiest thing in the world, there are so many of them. This vibrant and cosmopolitan city is loved by both those who live there and those who visit it. A trip to New York is on everyone’s wish list.

I have explored a lot since becoming a Manhattan resident and the diversity of people and places just blows me away. The only problem with New York is its sheer size; you never feel fully a part of it, no matter how hard you try.

From now on I am concentrating on the best areas of Manhattan. I’m backing up my opinions with the reasons behind why I think they’re so great. This is the real New York, so give them a try the next time you visit.

I’ve tried many places to eat and drink since I’ve lived here, and my favorites are in the eclectic East Village.

In just 1 square mile, you will find more shopping options, places to eat, bars, etc. than you could imagine. Extremely popular with those in their 20s and 30s; The East Village flows seamlessly into the area known as the Lower East Side, and the two are very similar.

More mature patrons tend to congregate at the cafes nestled among the trees on the West Village sidewalks. High-end clothing boutiques attract a stylish clientele, but the area retains the vibrancy New York is famous for.

If Bohemia is not your style and you want to spend some time in nature, then head to the Upper West Side. This area is home to the world famous Central Park, a beautiful place to relax for a few hours and watch the world go by.

These areas are just a few of my favorites, and I hope I have whet your appetite for what Manhattan has to offer. I’m going to go now because he trusts me; I could go on for hours!
