SOMEWHERE DEEP BELOW

* Author’s Note: This one shows the emotional turmoil and recovery process, the exalted and exhausted victory of a wall eroded as the realization that there is much more to be done sinks.

Somewhere deep down

The feelings inside me multiply and sow.

The hardest and coldest feelings intensify

And outside, they are determined to show themselves.

By staying on all four sides, they take control.

Bouncing back and forth, the interior begins an echo.

Strong Lessons and Sermons –

All the mixed words that reap confusion

As they come together and fill each gap.

Somewhere deep down

The ability to love glimmers.

Send a shadow down the forbidden path …

And then a wall starts to erode.

One less, but thousands remain …

Slower, but more stable, programmed feelings flow.

This endless battle has made the slightest advance,

Behold! The cycle has surely started to slow down!

ICARUS

* Ode to my loving husband of 31 years (so far), written when we first met. He waited patiently for me to trust love.

Who are you to disturb my inner thoughts?

Come here, innocently pushing away my fears;

Creating new fears as old ones fade?

Don’t go, but for the love of God, don’t stay.

Show yourself to me or just go.

Your feelings are welcome here I think

Wishing for your smiles and tears;

And with you I lose some fear.

However, I try not to mind.

You may not be able to stop the flow.

I have to ask you to stop doing this, but don’t go.

I’m confused between my fears and you

For you, I am who I am.

You still stay where you are.

I’m afraid I may enjoy this too much

I may not let go of your hand.

I’ll be strong, take it as it comes, and enjoy our time.

Wait for the inevitable buzzer.

I’ll try not to push you away, I swear.

I won’t show you too much either.

However, it is very difficult not to believe this.
