A baby shower is something we are all invited to in our lives at one point or another. Then comes the decision of what kind of gift to buy. First there are the different registers to decide which gift to buy. After purchasing the gift, you can add a special and useful gift of cotton balls and alcohol.
It’s important to realize that a baby shower is a fun time for the new mom (sometimes the dad) and her friends. After she has chosen the gift for herself and decided to make the special gift of cotton balls and alcohol. She will need to buy cotton balls, alcohol, a jar of jelly, construction paper (or colored chips), and glue (or double sticky tape). Now you are ready to make the special and useful gift. This gift will be totally unexpected for the new parents. When new parents bring the baby home from the hospital, the hospital does not provide enough alcohol wipes to use until the laces are loosened. In fact, this gift will be greatly appreciated so that they do not have to go shopping for this necessary item.
Finally, after gathering all the necessary items, you are ready to start making this project. Take the cotton balls and pack them tightly in the jar. Pour the alcohol onto the cotton balls, pour a little at a time until saturated, you may have to push to saturate. Next, place the lid tightly on the jar. Now cut the cardstock or index card to fit the top of the jar lid. Now write on the circle of paper with a pen (or permanently marked sharp point) “Alcohol and cotton balls to clean around baby’s cord.” Place it around the paper to make it look neat and finally glue or tape it to the lid. You can cut out more of the paper rounds to practice writing on them. I do this when I do them.
